The circulatory system of the body includes the blood system and the lymphatic system. The arteries of the blood system are responsible for carrying blood with nutrients from the heart to the various cells of our body, the veins are responsible for returning it back to the heart. The lymphatic system is responsible for removing excess fluids and toxins that are produced in tissues.

Both systems can become injured, both in function and anatomy: venous insufficiency, arterial insufficiency, lymphedema.

The physiotherapy can help to improve these disorders through specific therapeutic techniques:

  • Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)
  • Presstherapy
  • Cinesitherapy
  • Multilayer compressive bandage
  • Kinesiotaping
